About Amy
After a traumatic incident 18 years ago, Amy Medina discovered yoga. The practice has helped her to cope with the pain caused by a common syndrome called Fibromyalgia.
Amy Medina is determined to give her students professional, detailed instruction. She is assertive at all times giving her students individualized attention. Amy is always a dynamic instructor with a gentle touch. Spiritual and compassionate elements are vital in her teaching style.
Amy has been an athlete all her life. In the search for finding something that could help to cope with the symptoms of her condition, she started to practice yoga at a convention offered to personal trainers. Afterwards, at an aquatic convention she became certified as a Yoga in the Water Instructor. After these certifications she started to develop her passion for yoga. Her experience was so special that she continued her education to be certified as a Yoga Flow (Vinyasa) Instructor with the Yoga Alliance through the International School YogaFit. A few years later, she got certified as a Mat Pilates Instructor with Peak Pilates and continued her education in other formats. She has received multiple invitations to speak about the benefits of exercising with different organizations and corporations.
Amy Medina's educational and professional certifications includes training in Zumba for Seniors, Indoor Cycling, Step, Bootcamp, Strength Training, Club Boxing, Kickboxing and, Silver & Fit. Finally but not least important, she acquired all Silver Sneakers certifications - Strength, Cardio, Circuit, Splash (Aqua), Yoga, BOOM Muscle, BOOM Mind, BOOM Cardio.
As a human being and a teacher Amy Medina is convinced of the wonderful values of exercising. She is committed to be assertive, caring, and professional at all times as well as to instill in her students the passion to exercise in all formats. Amy Medina's happiness is based on doing and giving "good" through exercise but specially through yoga.
